CHILDSPEAK

MOTTO- IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CHILDREN

Children are indeed a treasure in their own special way, and in them are even more treasures.

Childspeak is a chance for the children to express themselves. I run workshops in different schools and organisations where we work on self expression, helping the children to become creative.

THE CHILDSPEAK PROJECT-

While POETRY LAB seeks to further the interests of adult poetry enthusiasts, the CHILDSPEAK project endeavours to mould the self- expression in children/young people through implementation of interactive media services such as audiovisuals, discussion forums, performing and fine arts. These include dance, story telling, public speaking, drama, debates, painting/ drawing, fashion and design, music and movement, creative writing and puppetry. Our approach is to involve the child in the creative process at a pace appropriate and comfortable to them. We also conduct individualised speech and writing development. The operative phrase in all our sessions is ‘Becoming Creative’.
CHILDSPEAK was initiated in response to the increasing needs of the children to express themselves in a fast changing world and is profoundly involved in development and execution of alternative learning opportunities that invoke and enhance the creative abilities of children, self esteem and confidence while providing a forum for interaction and personal growth.

GIVING CHILDREN SPACE FOR SELF EXPRESSION WHILE BOOSTING THEIR CONFIDENCE AND ENHANCING THEIR CREATIVITY. YOU WILL BE AMAZED AT WHAT THEY COME UP WITH.

Every school holiday POETRY LAB holds a creative camp at one of Kenya’s schools with the distinct objective of invoking the creative abilities of children/young people. The philosophy behind our camps is that- if you present creative teaching methods and teaching aids within a creative environment, you stand a better chance of experiencing a creative output from the children. Everything from the stationery to sitting arrangement to games and warm-up activities is all DIFFERENT from normal school days and yes, creative.

THE BARN ER BRA (CHILDREN ARE GOOD) FESTIVAL HAUGUSUND- NORWAY WAS A GREAT AND MOMORABLE INSPIRATION!
